The photos and videos of the collapse of the Top One, the Dolomites.
The collapse of a mountain is not a usual phenomenon, but in this rare case, the event was well documented. Various photos and videos of Top One (Sesto Dolomites) highlight the frightening event. The collapse occurred on several occasions starting at 9 am on October 12. A tower 100 meters high, 30 meters wide and 20 meters deep has been completely powdered. The collapse of the summit has produced a cloud of dust that has drastically reduced visibility throughout the Valley Fiscalina.
Fortunately there are no victims and the few people who were in hiking trails have not had any problems.
The reasons for the collapse can be found in the fact that the rocks are predominantly dolomitic limestone and therefore fragile and porous. The temperature, frost and thaw makes it even more fragile and therefore more subject to sbriciolamento.
